Panzerlied. Battle of the Bulge.

みなさん、こんにちは。

１９世紀の物理学に戻って、マックスウェルやギプス、ヘビサイド、カルノーなどの研究を勉強して、さらに今世紀になり、戦前のドイツの研究者の論文などを読んでいると、かの鉄血宰相ビスマルク時代やナチス・ドイツ時代のドイツ人の研究者のあまりにレベルの高さにただ驚くばかりである。

コンピュータのない時代に高次の微分方程式をどうやって解くか？むしろ、方程式など代数的解析的に解かずに解を得る方法とか、およそ想像もできない方法を発明していたから実に愉快である。

方程式があれば、それを図示してしまう。すると、たちまちのうちに解の振る舞いが機械的に求まる。

そこには四則演算程度の数学しか使わずに目的の解の挙動を知ることができるのだ。

いまでは方程式の解を得るにも効果なパソコンやら効果なMATHEMATICAを使わないと解が得られない。そういう時代になった。

果たしてどっちが賢かったのか？

とまあ、こんなふうなことを考えさせられるのである。

もちろん、今現在のドイツ人は我々今現在の日本人と同様にそれほど大したことはない。

そんなドイツ人たちだったからこそ、「ナチスの空飛ぶ円盤」が発明できたわけだ。

今の日本人のようにテラフロップスのスーパーコンピュータがなければ無理だというようなことであれば、いつまで経っても自由自在に空は飛べない。人工知能も同じこと。電気を使わなければできないとすれば、巨大な発電機が搭載されなければ、空を飛ぶことなど不可能だ。

大した電気も使わなくて済むから空を飛ぶことができる。あるいは自重を感じなくてすむほどの推進力があれば、重い発電機すら搭載できる。そのいずれかだろう。

さて、そんな旧ナチス・ドイツの「空飛ぶ円盤」に関するサイトを偶然見つけたので、一応ここにメモしておこう。おそらくこれは

「ペガサス」
